BROADCHURCH fans have been given a little tip off by one of the cast today on how to discover whodunit – just ask the costume designer.
Sir Lenny Henry, one of the guest stars of the third and final series, said the man who dresses them on set is the one who holds all the secrets.
The comedian and actor was appearing on Good Morning Britain to talk about the return of the award-winning drama, which sees the return of David Tennant and Olivia Colman as DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller.
The detectives are back to investigate the brutal rape of a local woman called Trish Winterman, played by Julie Hesmondhalgh.
And Henry, who stars as Trish’s boss Ed Burnett, said he has no idea who the rapist is – but he thinks he knows who does.
Speaking to hosts Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway, he said: “You get each script week by week, you get your pages. If there’s a clue within the scene then ok that’s fine, but you don’t really get the whole thing.

“What you got to do is talk to the costume designer because he says, ‘you’ll never guess what’s happening to you next week’, ‘Really?’.
“They might give you a bit of a clue as to something but you really don’t know when you show up.”
Henry said he had a great time filming the show and not only were the very welcoming, but the locals were too.
The drama was filmed in Dorset and Henry said after filming the previous two series there, the locals even try and give the crew some pointers.
He said: “What’s great the people that live in Bridport are very au fait with the camera people now. ‘Oh, I wouldn’t put the camera there, that’s not a very good shot, move it round to here and you can get the sunset in the background’.
“They were very welcoming and I had a great time. And David and Olivia were very welcoming to all of us. It was a great experience.”
