BROADCHURCH actress Sarah Parish will take on the role of a troubled copper with “dark secrets” in her closet in ITV’s gritty new thriller Bancroft.
The TV star, 48, plays lead character DCI Elizabeth Bancroft, who excels at her career and has dedicated her entire life to the police force.

Producers describe her as a “tortured female” yet “brilliant copper” with a strong ruthless streak.
DC Bancroft’s next project is to bring down the vicious Kamara gang – with the hope of getting a promotion to Detective Chief Superintendent – despite using some rather dubious methods to tackle violent ringleader Athif.
Sarah, 48, is no stranger to crime dramas having already starred in ITV series The Bill as well as fans’ favourite Broadchurch.

She has begun shooting scenes in Bolton and around the north west alongside co-star Fay Marsay, who plays recruit DS Katherine Stevens.
