BROADCHURCH fans have become convinced that the horrific rape storyline playing out is about to get even DARKER – thanks to Ellie Miller’s teenage son, Tom.
The troublesome teenager was suspended from school in episode one for sharing porn to his friends on his phone.
Despite his mother being furious at his actions, it hasn’t stopped him from repeating them as she becomes further embroiled in the investigation of Trish Winterman’s rape to realise what’s going on.
Now, as he showed off the latest addition to his growing collection to a pal – viewers have become convinced that Tom holds the key to solving the case – and has a video of Trish’s rape on his phone.
Flocking to Twitter with the new theory, fans were all in agreement that something wasn’t right with the young boy’s actions.
One wrote: “I’m calling it… the porn on Tom’s phone will turn out to be a clip of the attack #broadchurch”
Another agreed and added: “He definitely has got footage of the rape hasn’t he? I don’t think he knows it’s rape, but definitely think he has footage #Broadchurch”

A third said: “Is Tom watching Trish’s attack on his phone?? Ellie won’t have checked to see what’s on it #Broadchurch”
Some other internet sleuths tied it to Trish’s husband Ian conducting a dodgy deal to get a file wiped from his computer – and speculated that he could have something to do with it.
One fan deduced: “Is the material on Tom’s phone, footage of the rape &/or the same as what’s on Trish’s Husband’s laptop #Broadchurch”
While others were just left worried about what’s going to happen, and wrote: “Is that kid having porn on his phone gonna lead to him discovering a video of the attack..? Feel like somethings gonna happen #broadchurch”
Tom Miller has had strong ties to the storylines that have played out throughout all three seasons of Broadchurch.
He was best friends with the murdered Danny Latimer, and it turned out it was his father that killed him.
Ellie, played by Olivia Colman, has also led both investigations alongside DI Alec Hardy.
With three episodes still to go, everyone’s a suspect in the final series of the gripping crime drama.
