BROADCHURCH fans have finally been given a glimpse at the chilling third series in a brand new teaser clip.
The 10-second video features a snapshot of each of the main characters, taken from the last series, teasing mysterious new scenes to come.
David Tennant‘s character DI Alec Hardy is set to reunite with Olivia Colman‘s DS Ellie Miller for a final time on the memorable cliff-lined coast.
The new footage, released by US broadcaster BBC America, rushes through each of the characters as they look off into the distance in a series of dark-looking scenes, with each shot taken from the last series to remind viewers of the shock storylines so far.
The lead characters are set to investigate a sexual assault in the aftermath of the Danny Latimer murder case.
While producers aren’t giving much away, they do reveal Arthur Darvill will reprise his role as Reverend Paul Coates, while Coronation Street star Julie Hesmondhalgh takes on the role of Trish Winterman.
Beth Latimer, played by Jodie Whittaker, also returns alongside Tom Miller – the son of Ellie and murderer Joe.
One frame shows a young Tom looking at Mark Latimer as he walks alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s junior barrister Abby Thompson.
The last series showed the pair meeting up in secret in Susan Wright’s caravan, sharing a bond no-one knew about.
The new series is set to air early next year, and promises more explosive drama as the long-running storyline finally reaches its conclusion.

It was previously revealed Corrie star Julie was joining the cast for the final series.
The first series, which aired in March 2013, focused on the death of a local boy and the search for his murderer, with the second series focusing on the trial and the reopening of an old case for Hardy.
Show writer Chris Chibnall said the new season will see Miller and Hardy reuniting to investigate a serious sexual assault.
He added: “This is the final chapter of Broadchurch. We have one last story to tell, featuring both familiar faces and new characters. I hope it’s a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me.”
